Dorsey & Whitney's Associate Bonus Program incorporates two separate components in an effort to recognize a variety of contributions to the firm by our associates. All associate are eligible to receive bonuses under either or both components.

The first component, based upon individual lawyer productivity, is designed to recognize associates who exceed their hours requirements. The hours counted towards this requirement include client billable hours, approved administrative hours and up to 100 hours of pro bono time.

The bonus award structure is as follows:

Hours above requirement: % of bonus award:
1-100 5-8%
101-200 10-12%
201-300 14-16%
301 and greater 18-20%

The second component of the program is the discretionary bonus to recognize associates who have made exceptional contributions to the Firm. The emphasis is on high quality legal work, firm citizenship, market conditions, and revenue production (e.g., recognizing exceptional billable hours, premium billing or other contributions to revenue). Eligibility for this component is not tied to the hours requirement noted above.

Hours: N/A collects salary information from a variety of sources, including: recruiting coordinators, hiring partners, and associates at law firms, experts on a given market's salaries, public sources, and press releases. In many cases, a particular firm's salary chart has been triangulated from multiple sources.

While this is the most comprehensive, accurate attorney salary database available anywhere, some firms will have inaccuracies from time to time. If you see data that you believe to be inaccurate, please let us know and we'll look into it immediately.
