Re: NCCU evening or UNC Grapes August 05, 2009 07:28 pm
You have to think about what you want out of a law degree. If you don't have a very clear idea of how you will use your law degree to further your career, you are running a good chance of spending money for little or no benefit. You also have to realize that you have to graduate towards the top of your class at UNC and at the top of your class at NCCU to land law jobs that will have a good chance of having a significantly higher salary out of law school.

Check out the information about where graduates at those schools work and what they get paid. In particular, if you have an interest in getting a job at a large law firm doing corporate work, I'd suggest that you look at the bios of laywers who do that work at those firms, and see how many come from NCCU and how many from UNC.

If you go full time, you should understand that this is a terrible market for hiring new lawyers, so you would have to think hard about your finances (i.e., summer jobs will be hard to come by). On the other hand, the job market will turn around at some point, and the upside to going full time at UNC can be very high if you graduate in the top 20 percent or so of your class.

Hope this helps.
