Faegre actually fired across all levels. Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior Associates, as well as staff lawyers and special counsel.
I'm not sure how laying off first and second years would make Faegre look any worse and than laying off more senior staff. If anything, I'd say laying off a seventh-year who was deferred for partnership in December makes Faegre look worse than cutting loose some junior associates who are loss leaders in the legal marketplace.
