I have to disagree that Carnival is worst. I've been on Royal and Carnival. The people on Royal are snobby and all they want is their frickin food. It depends on what you want: Party atmosphere and down to earth people, pick Carnival. Snooty and maybe a little better food, pick Royal, Norwegian, Celebrity or Princess. Just my opinion. Take it or leave it.
