That would not be surprising given the huge "bumps" every associate received six months ago. Face it, to a certain extent, every firm's corporate (capital markets) and real estate groups are slow or dead right now, while litigation and bankruptcy are doing well (if not great for bankruptcy). I think you are going to see most firms begin layoffs or disguised performance layoffs.
