Re: Bashman/Tribe EasilyReversed May 27, 2005 12:04 pm
Well, as everyone knows, I'm one of this board's biggest Bashman backers. I have to agree with AWC that Bashman is an expert on the Constitution, so his forthcoming completion of Tribe's treatise is to be eagerly awaited. I'm not sure why Tribe wrote those wacky letters, but at least they're in his amusing "Big Mahatma" style. Some Harvard students are already having fun deconstructing them here. Even better, Tony Mauro called up Ronald Rotunda and Erwin Chemerinsky and asked them what they thought of Tribe's statement that their con law treatises don't “do much beyond describing the relevant judicial decisions," which supposedly is why they're able to keep them up to date, but Tribe can't keep his treatise up to date. See here. I like Rotunda's snarky response that it's "a lot of work" to keep a treatise up to date. Chemerinsky's response sounded a little like Darth Vader talking to the Emperor -- everything but the "Yes, my Master" bit. Guess he really wants to teach at Harvard.
