Dr. Mark Byers, a counseling and psychologist and career counselor, advised counseled students and lawyers at Harvard Law School since and the Harvard Business School. He is the principal author of Lawyers in Transition, a career planning guide for lawyers, and the author of "Career Choice and Satisfaction in the Legal Profession" articles. A 1963 graduate of Harvard Law School, Ron Fox practiced law for 20 years in a variety of settings, including two law firms he founded. For the next five years he provided career advice and guidance to Harvard Law School students.
A founder and the director of the Center for Professional Development in the Law , in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ron has, since 1990, worked individually, in person and over the telephone, with over 1300 lawyers throughout the United States, including many dissatisfied commercial litigators. David Helfand

Dr. David P. Edward Honnold

Edward Honnold graduated in 1978 from Yale Law School, where he served as Editor of the Yale Law Journal and Articles Editor of the Yale Journal of World Public Order. After law school, Ed Honnold moved to Washington D.C. to practice law in a private firm and eventually to serve in the judicial, legislative and executive branches of Government.

While serving at U.S. Agency for International Development, Mr. Honnold began laying the foundation for a mid-life career change by earning a Masters in Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Honnold is currently in full-time private practice in Washington, D.C., counseling individuals and business groups on personal and professional transition issues. He specializes in counseling discontented lawyers who are interested in undertaking either a lateral move within the field or using their law degree as a stepping stone to a different line of work. Julie Morgenstern

Patrick Vane

Patrick Vane is a recovering Tax lawyer with 16 years private practice experience. After graduating from Georgetown with an LL.M. in Tax, he practiced with small and large firms in Seattle, WA specializing in corporate tax and estate planning. He has represented a number of Seattle area software company founders and early managers. Patrick also taught law as a professor at Golden Gate University where he eventually became a resident Dean and a University Provost.

While teaching, Patrick got the idea to offer continuing education training to lawyers over the Internet as a way to make the continuing education requirement easier to satisfy for himself and his lawyers friends. The company, Taecan.com, is now the largest distributor of CLE over the Internet, offering a wide variety of courses approved in most states. The company has contracts with large law firms, corporations and private industry to train lawyers online for CLE.
